1983-2013: Vice President of International Occultation Timing Association, a non-profit scientific organization which conducts research into asteroids, solar eclipses and occultations of stars.
1970 to present: Science Team Expedition organizer for the NASA JSC Astronomical Society. Coordinated field activities of groups as large as 330 persons.
1992: Developed initiative through the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful uses of Outer Space to provide Mir and Space Shuttle viewing opportunities to 34 countries during the International Space Year 1992.
